At LumioPDF, we don't just "protect" your privacy—we structurally guarantee it.

No Data Uploads

Every tool on this website runs directly inside your browser. When you select a file, it is loaded into your local RAM, processed by your CPU, and saved back to your disk. We have no backend servers capable of receiving or storing your files.

Minimal Tracking

The only tracking we perform is through Google Analytics to understand basic metrics like total visitors and page popularity. This helps us decide which features to build next. We do not track document contents, filenames, or user identities.

GDPR Alignment

Because your data never leaves your computer, there is no "data transfer" or "third-party processing" occurring in a legal sense. LumioPDF is inherently compatible with strict data residency requirements across all jurisdictions.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), "data transfer" occurs when personal data is moved to a third-party processor. Because LumioPDF operates entirely in your browser's memory, no data transfer ever takes place.

  • Data Controller: You (the user) remain the sole controller and processor of your data.
  • Data Residency: Your files never leave your device, ensuring 100% adherence to regional data residency requirements.
  • No Sub-processors: We do not use third-party cloud services to process your documents. All logic is executed on your local CPU.

Technical Verification

The best part about local-first software is that it's structurally impossible to hide network traffic from the user. You can verify our privacy claims using your browser's developer tools:

  1. 1Right-click anywhere and select 'Inspect'.
  2. 2Go to the 'Network' tab in the panel that appears.
  3. 3Drag a sensitive PDF into any of our tools.
  4. 4Process the file and download the result.
  5. 5Notice that 0 Bytes of data were sent to any external server related to your file.

Offline Capability: Once this page is loaded, you can literally disconnect your internet. LumioPDF is a PWA-ready static application; it will continue to work perfectly because all the logic is already on your machine.
