How to Scrub Hidden Metadata from Your PDF Files

What is Metadata?

Every time you export a PDF from Word, Canva, or Photoshop, the file stores "Metadata." This can include:

  • Your computer's username (e.g., "John-Laptop")
  • The exact date and time the file was created.
  • The specific version of the software used.

Why Scrub It?

If you're a student, a legal professional, or a journalist, this hidden data can leak information you didn't intend to share.

The LumioPDFSolution

Our Edit Metadata tool lets you see exactly what is hidden in your file. You can then choose to "Wipe All" or manually change the Author and Title fields. Because we process locally, you can be sure that even the "Scrubbing" process itself is private.
